Improved DV-Hop Localization Scheme for Randomly Deployed WSNs

Abstract:


Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is considered one of the key research area in the recent. Various application of WSNs need geographic location of the sensor nodes. Localization in WSNs play a important role because without knowledge of sensor nodes location the information is useless. Finding the accurate location is very crucial in Wireless Sensor Networks. Although many studied have been done for computing the location of nodes but still, it is an enduring research area. In this paper, an Improved DV-Hop localization algorithm is proposed for solving the problem of localization using weight and correction factor with least energy consumption and minimum localization error. The proposed algorithm gives significant results in terms of accuracy and energy consumption as compared to other algorithms like DV-Hop, IWCDV-Hop, and IDV-Hop.
