Video Steganography using DNA and Chaotic Sequence

Increasing dependency on digital world making its user’s life not only easier but fast too. Realization without internet is very hard. Exchange of sensitive information through internet requires security. Question is how much security in reality is enough.Security professions in their works claims that security is actually making a balance between the value of information and its protection cost. Cryptography and steganography are the two core concepts which are implemented, may be in layers now a day’s during secure communications. These security layers may be in numbers depending upon the value of information for which it is applied. Paper proposes an algorithm which exploits the advantages of both concepts i.e. steganography & cryptography. Steganography is performed to hide the text which is considered to be valuable in terms of information it carries. Cryptography is performed keeping in mind if the hidden text is caught then it is of no use for the person who is actually getting this. Some researcher’s refers this as a metamorphic cryptography. Proposed algorithm uses the concept of DNA for encryption purpose. Chaotic sequence is used for choosing the random frame from video to create more confusion. The encrypted text which was generated after implementing DNA sequence algorithm was hidden in least significant bit (LSB) of selected video frame. Results obtained through histogram analysis clearly reflect observations that visual detection is very hard to observe. If spectral analysis is performed on output generated by encryption procedure of proposed algorithm, result will be encrypted message i.e. strength of proposed algorithm.
